Theodore Seeds, LMFT

Education

I graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a degree that laid the foundati on for my career in mental health. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC), a program that emphasized both academic rigor and clinical expertise. Since completing my studies, I’ve had the honor of returning to USC as a guest speaker, sharing insights and experiences with the next generation of therapists.

Clinical Experience

Diverse experiences across different settings have shaped my clinical career. At Counseling Partners of Los Angeles, I worked closely with K-8th-grade students, helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, behavioral concerns, and peer relationships. This early experience taught me the importance of empathy and adaptability when working with young minds.

I expanded my scope of practice at BLVD Treatment Center, an outpatient rehabilitation facility, where I provided individual therapy for young adults and led process groups focused on recovery and personal growth. This setting deepened my understanding of addiction, mental health, and the complex interplay between the two.
At Airport Marina Counseling Service, I received extensive psychodynamic training, which enriched my ability to work with adults and couples facing various challenges. These experiences solidified my passion for fostering growth and resilience in clients across all stages of life.

In 2016, I began building my private practice under the mentorship of Cynthia Braden, LMFT. This mentorship was instrumental in shaping my approach to therapy, blending evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, client-centered perspective. After becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I established my practice. I have been privileged to work with individuals, couples, and families to help them create meaningful change in their lives.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Drawing from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and systemic frameworks, I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Whether helping individuals manage anxiety, guiding couples through relationship challenges, or supporting families in fostering connection and understanding, my goal is to empower clients to live more fulfilling lives.
